Choosing the Right Care Plan for Your Loved One

Family discussing care plan options with a coordinator

Most families arrive at the same question: how much care is enough — and how much is too much? Start with needs, not hours. List what a normal day requires: getting up, meals, medication, company, evenings. The gaps in that list are your care plan.

Start With An Honest Assessment

Our free assessment scores five areas: personal care, health routines, mobility, household tasks, and social time. Seniors needing help in one or two areas usually thrive on a Basic plan; three or more points toward Standard with its extended hours and monitoring.

Match Hours To Risk, Not Just Tasks

A parent who manages mornings but grows unsteady by evening needs coverage at the right time of day, not necessarily more of it. Split visits — morning plus evening — often beat one long midday block.

Questions To Ask Any Provider

  • Who covers sick days — will we ever be left without help?
  • How are care notes shared with the family?
  • Can the plan change month to month as needs shift?
  • Is there a named coordinator we can call directly?

Review After Thirty Days

Needs change. We review every new plan after the first month and adjust hours, tasks, or caregivers — usually downward in cost as routines settle, sometimes upward as trust grows. A good plan is a living document.

Still unsure? Book a free assessment and we'll recommend the lightest plan that genuinely covers the day.
